Our Story
Our StoryThe FurIzzy was invented for our best friend Izzy, (if you couldn't tell by the name) a black lab. She passed away in 2009, but her name and legacy live on.The concept of FurIzzy has been around for over 10 years when Izzy's owner, Greg, duck taped a broken mini-rake to the back of a 3 wood golf club. This became the first prototype.Izzy couldn't get enough of it! Whether it was the rake combing down her back or the 3 wood massaging her belly, she never wanted it to stop, her tail would wag like crazy!. Izzy wasn't the only one who liked it, Greg was instantly amazed with the amount of excess fur that the rake was removing from Izzy's shedding coat. On top of that, the house was clean longer and Izzy was staying nice and fresh. Not only was it the rake removing mass amounts of unwanted fur that made Greg happy, it was the long golf club handle. This meant that he didn't have to bend over or get on his hands and knees to keep the shedding fur out of his house, and off his clothes and furniture. The long handle made it easy, fun, and most importantly comfortable to use!This led to the creation of the FurIzzy that we bring you today! The rake and long handle are still the main features with the 3 wood modified into more effective massaging nubs for your pet!
